Trenton 6s

This small pocket watch movement was produced between 1885 and 1908.

There are 2 interesting features to this watch movement (or two features that I discovered while disassembling this watch): the lever setting mechanism and the underside crown wheel.

The interesting thing with this type of lever setting mechanism is that, as shown in the pictures, several pinions slide along the main plate when the lever is pulled. To make this possible, the pivots of these pinions are on the underside of the setting cover rather than on the main plate. This makes re-assembling the watch a bit tricky.

Because the winding mechanism is mainly on the dial side of the movement, the mainspring barrel is winding from below rather than above. When disassembling the watch, it is only when the barrel is removed that you can see the click and the ratchet wheel on the underside of the barrel.
