Seiko 7005A

The Seiko 7005A is an automatic movement with date indication.

Once the date plate was removed, the disk with the index finger moving the date disk became visible at 10 o’clock and the date jumper mechanism became apparent at 6 o’clock.

When you will see the next picture, the question that will come to your mind will be “why didn’t he remove the rotor before taking off the whole automatic system”. The answer is simple, I thought the rotor had to be detached from underneath after removing the automatic bridge as I did not pay enough attention and did not notice the rotor axis was a screw.

I did end up detaching the rotor from the rest before re-assembling the whole movement as can be seen in the next picture.

The picture below shows the “magic lever” with its two prongs that push and pull the teeth of the ratchet wheel. An explanation of how this system works can be found on the automatic theme page.
