The movement pictured below is an ST1812, a Chinese clone of the ETA 2892.

Once the cannon pinion and its driving wheel were removed, we could see that a pinion goes through the base plate to drive it.

The mainspring barrel drives the large pinion of the main wheel
Notice the small hole in the base plate where the third wheel pinion will both mesh with the main wheel on this side and with the driving wheel on the dial side
