- Information on the GUB 69.1 can be found on a dedicated page of the ranfft website
GUB or Glashütter Uhrenbetrieben was the East German nationalized watchmaking company.
The 69.1 is a manual winding movement with a date indication.
Unlike in many other movements, the date wheels are secured by screws and do not just fit around a pin.
The movement does not have a typical 3/4 plate, but there is a single bridge for the whole gear train.
This is a movement with direct centre seconds and the second and fourth wheel are therefore on top of each other at the centre, which is why the third wheel has a long pinion reaching down through the extra bridge.
